BIOGRAPHY

Letitia Berlin grew up in Augusta, Georgia. She teaches recorder and coaches ensembles in California and at workshops around the country, including the Amherst Early Music Festival, and the Winds and Waves recorder workshop. She is the director of early music workshops at the Hidden Valley Institute of the Arts in Carmel Valley, CA. She directed the San Francisco Early Music Society Music Discovery workshop for children from 2004-2014. Ms. Berlin performs regularly with the Farallon Recorder Quartet and the recorder duo Tibia. She has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, the Carmel Bach Festival and the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra as well as other ensembles. Recordings include works by Ludwig Senfl with the Farallon Recorder Quartet on the Pandore label, English music from the 14th century to Purcell with Farallon, and Ladino love songs with Yatan Atan on the New Albion label. Ms. Berlin received a master's degree in early music performance practices from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor of music from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her mentors and teachers have included Inga Morgan, Sabine Evers, Frances Blaker, Marion Verbruggen, and Carol Marsh.
