2019 Baroque Music Festival, Corona del Mar: Opening Concert—Back to Bach Concertos

Bach: The Master and His Milieu
June 23-30, 2019

Preceded by brass music from South Coast Brass al fresco on the patio at 3:15 p.m.; wine & waters reception on the patio following the concert.

Elizabeth Blumenstock (the Festival’s Artistic Director) leads the Festival Orchestra and soloists in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D Major, BWV 1050, with solo harpsichordist Ian Pritchard, and the Orchestral (“Flute”) Suite No. 2 in B Minor, BWV 1067 with its famous “Badinerie.” Concertos by Leclair (Elizabeth Blumenstock, violin), Fasch (Judith Linsenberg, recorder) and Telemann (Stephen Schultz, flute & Judith Linsenberg, recorder) complete the program.

Festival subscription (all five concerts, plus post-concert Finale dinner, June 30th): $280
Single tickets for the opening concert: $40
