A Curious Collection of Tunes

July 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm PDT

$15 – $30

2022 Vancouver Bach Festival – This concert explores the repertoire of Scottish tunes and their relationship with other traditions – the European art music of the time, the fiddle music of Scandinavia, and present-day folk composition.  The concert features acclaimed Baroque violinist and Celtic fiddler David Greenberg – praised as “the best baroque violin soloist in Canada, if not North America” (Stephen Pedersen, Halifax Mail-Star) and keyboardist David McGuinness, who hails from Glasgow. David McGuinness divides his time between historical Scottish music and contemporary work. “David McGuinness and his Concerto Caledonia never fail to add spice to a performance of early music… it makes for robust entertainment.” (The Scotsman)
