AEM ONLINE – Celestial Music, with Jennifer Carpenter, recorder

From multiple 15th and 16th-century settings of the popular liturgical hymns Ave maris stella (Hail, O Star of the Sea) and Stella caeli (Star of Heaven), to celestial bodies celebrated in music by Purcell and Handel, we’ll experience the divine beauty in music that honors the heavens. Open to: intermediate through advanced recorder players (other instruments are welcome!) Pitch: A=440

Join AEM ONLINE for new classes in each month! There is no need to create an AEM account, register for any number of sessions – classes are $25 each. Music for the classes is posted in advance. Recordings of the class are available to participants for 7 days.
