Four Wednesday Sessions

September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 2023 from 5:30-6:45pm EST

Music from Escorial MS V.III.24 (ca. 1430-1445) – Early Notation with Annette Bauer

This early-fifteenth century source commissioned by the Duke of Burgundy, Philip the Good (1396-1467, reigned from 1419 to his death) features predominantly French secular repertoire of the first few decades of the fifteenth century. Striking is the use of black mensural notation with red color on a red staff system. $100 for all four sessions.

Join AEM ONLINE for new classes in each month! There is no need to create an AEM account. Music for the classes is posted in advance. Class recordings and materials for the Early Notation sessions are available to participants for the duration of the sessions.
