AEM ONLINE – Beyond Melody: What to play when You’re not playing Melody on English Country Dance Tunes, with Karen Axelrod and Shira Kammen

February 11 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EST

$25

English Country Dance tunes have wonderful melodies. But sometimes, someone else is playing the melody, and it’s nice to have something else to do, other than doubling their melody. You could make yourself a coffee, or sit and knit. But we have lots of specific tools to help you figure out things you can do that will complement what the melody player is doing. We will apply them to certain tunes, and you can try them out against the melody. Open to all instruments, anyone interested in English Country Dance music, or improvisation. Pitch A=440.

Join AEM ONLINE for new classes in each month! There is no need to create an AEM account, register for any number of sessions – classes are $25 each. Music for the classes is posted in advance. Recordings of the class are available to participants for 7 days.
