Bach’s Flutes: Highlights from the St. Matthew Passion
March 3 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm CET
As the Easter season approaches, “Teddie Talks Traverso” launches its new series of online education with this exciting 2-hour lecture workshop!
Using selected passages from J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, Teddie Hwang teams up with her esteemed colleague Amanda Markwick to analyze and share with learners the important concepts and techniques involved in performing this incredible music. Both general advice as well as specifics to the presented passages will be dealt with in the workshop. Solos and major flute parts such as “Aus Liebe”, “Buß und Reu”, “O Mensch” will be featured, amongst other chorales and orchestral passages.
The lecture workshop is designed for players who are preparing for an upcoming performance of the work, as well as anyone who would like to learn more about German baroque flute-playing. Both modern and baroque flutists are warmly welcomed!
This is an online event, tickets are available here through Eventbrite. Early bird registration ends by midnight Feb. 4.
