Bards of the British Isles

May 22 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm EDT

Zoe Vandermeer’s Soprano and Welsh Triple Harp program Bards of the British Isles presents music of the late 16th century to the late 18th century from Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.  Featured composers include Welsh harper and composer Edward Jones, a few harp selections from Edward Bunting’s Irish collection, moving music by Irish harper O’Carolan, an interesting Welsh song arranged by Joseph Haydn, a tribute to Mary Queen of Scots, an aria from Handel’s Rinaldo, music from the Scottish Hebrides, and a beautiful song by Scots composer James Oswald.  Interspersed, are Zoe’s three Welsh harp improvisations.
