Bath Time: Music for Matchmaking Season

November 12 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm PST

Free

Grab your finest silk coat or gown, and the latest gossip column! We’re heading to the resort town of Bath, in Somerset, England. Enjoy a one-hour program that local 18th-century philanthropist Ralph Allen might have hosted: concertos by Handel, Corelli and Hellendaal; then, at magical golden hour, selections from Purcell’s The Fairy Queen. Dapper Georgian dress is encouraged, and a party with the musicians follows the concert. Join us for our 8th Season Opener!

Directed by Lindsey Strand-Polyak, violin
Artistic Associates Courtney Kuroda, violin; and Aki Nishiguchi, oboe.

Arcangelo Corelli: Concerto Grosso, Op.6 No.2 in F Major (c.1712)
Pieter Hellendaal: Concerto Grosso, Op.3 No.4 in Eb Major (published c.1758)
George Frideric Handel: Concerto Grosso Op.3 No.1 in Bb Major (published 1734)
Henry Purcell: Instrumental selections from The Fairy Queen (1692)

Free admission, but donations are welcomed at the door. RSVP is optional – no one will be turned away. All ages welcome!
