Benjamin Alard, organ & harpsichord

March 15 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT

$20 – $70

Johann Sebastian Bach: The Traveller
A fast-rising star on the international stage, Benjamin Alard has been hailed for his “intellectual mastery” (The Globe and Mail) in his performances of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music. Join him in his BEMF concert series début in a journey through the great master’s music for harpsichord and organ. Before settling in Leipzig, Bach spent much of his early life traveling across Germany, gaining fame for his virtuosic keyboard playing. Bach immersed himself in the local German styles but just as eagerly exposed himself to music from Italy, France, and England. Experience the vivid contrasts of a youthful Bach’s intense keyboard writing, at turns electrifying and serene, as he explored (and often tried to surpass) these diverse influences.

Pre-Concert Talk at 7pm.
