Danse Macabre – Devilish Virtuosity on Two Harpsichords

September 24 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

$55.00

Hear the harpsichord as you’ve never heard it before in the stunning A&A Cembalo Duo’s Washington debut. European reviewers herald A&A’s ‘Devilish Virtuosity’ & ‘…poetry [and] intoxicating virtuosity beyond expectations’.

On the Program are A&A’s transcriptions of works by Lully/D’Anglebert, Royer, Handel, Dvoràk, Ligeti, Saint-Saens and others transcribed for duo harpsichords or four hands, one harpsichord.

Anastasia Antonova and Anna Kiskachihave both won numerous prestigious awards during their musical careers.  Among the most notable are: first and third prizes overall at the prestigious Prague Spring Competition plus a special award for best performance of a harpsichord concerto.   They are laureates of the J.S. Bach Competition in Leipzig, Germany, and the Musica Antiqua Competition in Brugge, Belgium; won the Wanda Landowska Competition in Italy; received the Golden Award at the Svirel Competition; and won the international Yamanashi and Osaka Competitions in Japan.
