Sweet! French Baroque Music and Chocolate: Featuring music by Charpentier, Couperin, Rameau, Marais, Leclair, and Corrette
Brought to Spain from the bounty of the Americas, cacao ruled; once Spanish chocolatiers introduced the luscious taste sensation to the royal court at Versailles, every fashionable person wanted to drink chocolate. French Baroque music is to the ear what chocolate is to our taste buds: ecstatic delight! In this concert, Ensemble Caprice brings the great French Baroque composers Charpentier, Couperin, Rameau, Marais, Leclair, and Corrette deliciously to life.
