Friends and Colleagues – Bach & Telemann

Carolina Pro Musica presents GEMS (Gaston Early Music Series), a concert of instrumental and vocal music by J.S. Bach and G.P. Telemann who were active during much of the same time and in neighboring towns. Bach was less famous in his day and got his final job when two others including Telemann hds turned it down. The program features three Bach vocal works from Cantatas 121, 144 and 208 and solo works, trios, and a quartet by both Bach and Telemann. Instruments featured are strings, traverso, recorder, oboes and harpsichord.This project was supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
