Jenny Lind’s America, Zoe Vandermeer, Soprano and Welsh Harp

September 11 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

The New Britain American Museum of Art’s Sunday Music Series presents Zoe Vandermeer’s soprano and harp program ‘Jenny Lind’s America’, that features music that Jenny Lind sang during her famed American Tour 1850 – 1852.  Music selections include one of Miss Lind’s favorite arias, songs composed for her, and folk songs, all interspersed with anecdotes of Miss Lind’s life.  Zoe Vandermeer accompanies her singing on her Welsh triple harp (made by Robin Ward, UK).   This concert marks the 172 year anniversary of Miss Lind’s debut at Castle Garden in New York City,  September 11, 1850.  www.sopranoandharp.com
