Presented as part of USC’s Musicology Forum hosted by the Early Modern Studies Institute 2020-2021 Early Music Series in partnership with EMA, Scholar and performer Sarah Mead (Brandeis University) will discuss the relationship between early-modern musical instruments and the concept of the Gamut.

Sarah Mead is a sought-after teacher of viola da gamba and Renaissance & Baroque ensembles on the local, national, and international level. She is the director and a founding member of Nota Bene Viol Consort, and recognized as a performer on the lyra-viol. She is also known for her writings and presentations on applied theory of the 16th century.
