Renaissance Flute Workshop

Join Amanda Markwick and Na’ama Lion for a weekend workshop focusing exclusively on the Renaissance flute consort. We’ll start each day together with group warm-ups on cadences, modes, and hexachords, then divide up into groups to explore the repertoire. Extras include two mini-lectures on topics specifically related to the Renaissance flute, guided instruction on reading from 16th-century notation, and opportunities to try instruments by various makers.
Highlights from this calendar are included in the weekly E-Notes email newsletter (Tuesdays). Selections are made based on variety of event types and geographic regions.
