“Resounding!” 42nd Baroque Music Festival, CdM: The Joy of the Dance

Elizabeth Blumenstock and friends Jolianne Einem (violin), Rob Diggins (viola), Leif Woodward (cell0, Stephen Stubbs (lutes/baroque guitar), Peter Maund (percussion) and Ian Pritchard (harpsichord) perform lively dances from Austria to the melting pot of cultures that was the Baroque-era New World, plus everywhere in between, including suites by Schmelzer and Marini, traditional medleys from the British Isles, and evocative Spanish numbers. A Friday night like no other!
A wide-ranging instrumental concert of dances from the British Isles, the New World, Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Austria, showcasing the variety and richness in Baroque-era dance music and making the most of the excellent acoustics at St. Michael and All Angels in Corona del Mar.
