SalonEra: Afro-Caribbean Roots
February 1 @ 7:30 pm - February 3 @ 12:00 am EST

February 1st’s episode of SalonEra features Haitian-American baritone Jean-Bernard Cerin, soprano Sherezade Panthaki, and keyboardist Henry Lebedinsky. Cerin probes the first iterations of Haiti in the Classical music tradition, Lebedinsky introduces modinhas by mulatto composer Joaquin Manoel da Câmara (approx. 1780-1840), and all our guests collaborate remotely to record rarely-performed songs by Guadeloupe-born composer Joseph de Bologne, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges (1745-1799).
SalonEra is a free, livestreamed broadcast. You can watch on Les Délices’ YouTube, Facebook, or on the SalonEra website.
A salon experience for the 21st century, SalonEra introduces local and national audiences to a wide range of artists and performing traditions while deepening understanding and appreciation for the early music art form.
