Tempesta Talks: The Fashionable Violinist
January 31 @ 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm EST
$5 – $20
Fashion dictated how the violin was held and played in the 17th- and 18th centuries. In his talk, part of Tempesta di Mare’s online behind-the-scenes series Tempesta Talks, violinist Edmond Chan shares his findings from baroque-era violin treatises, paintings and prints, and what it’s like to play in an actual Eighteenth-Century style shirt, waistcoat, and jacket that would have been worn during that time.
Livestream with Q&A from the audience.
