The Harp in Softly Pleasing Strains

May 28 @ 12:15 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Soprano and Welsh Triple Harpist Zoe Vandermeer performs her mostly 18th century British Isles program ‘The Harp in Softly Pleasing Strains’ at the Tuesday Midday Recital Series at King’s Chapel, Boston.  The program features delightful voice and harp and harp solos by Handel, Purcell, Welsh harpist and composer Edward Jones, and others.

Zoe Vandermeer specializes in late Renaissance, baroque, classical and early 19th century music and her own compositions as a soloist, and with ensembles and orchestras.  Venues in which she has performed include the Bloomington Early Music Festival (2024), Connecticut Early Music Festival, Rio International Harp Festival Brasil, International Festival de Deia Spain, Glasgow International Early Music Festival, American Swedish Historical Museum Philadelphia, and elsewhere.  Her Dowland recording received favorable UK reviews, and she is looking forward to the release of her soprano and Welsh harp baroque CD with Centaur Records.  www.sopranoandharp.com
