The Whidbey Island Music Festival presents Biber’s Glorious Mysteries

May 5 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

$30

The Glorious Mysteries

By Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber

A soulful journey into the heart of the baroque

The Whidbey Island Music Festival presents the final concert in a three-concert series of Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber’s complete Mystery Sonatas. The Glorious Mysteries begin with the events of Easter and the Resurrection. The capstone of the final set of sonatas is the Passacaglia for solo violin, also known as the “Guardian Angel”. This concert takes place in the intimacy and acoustic splendor of the St. Augustine’s in-the-woods in Freeland on beautiful Whidbey Island. Springerle cookies pressed with images of a Guardian Angel will be served at the reception.
