“Starting in the 16th century adventurous composers began to assemble and write for mixed, or unmatched ensembles of winds and strings. They made — to Elizabethans — a “heavenly noyse.”—Broad Street Review

The individual colors of flute, recorder, oboe, bassoon and violin shine at their most brilliant when set against each other in kaleidoscopic musical gems accompanied by harpsichord and theorbo.

 Program

Vivaldi: Concerto for recorder, oboe, violin & basssoon

Telemann: Quartet for flute, oboe, violin & basson (from Tafelmusik)

Zelenka: Sonata for oboe, violin & bassoon

Janitsch: Sonata da camera for recorder, oboe & violin
