DESCRIPTION:Join Amanda Markwick and Na’ama Lion for AEM's Weekend Worksh
 op focusing exclusively on the Renaissance flute consort\nPlaying opportun
 ities for more advanced players as well as Renaissance-flute newcomers\, a
 ll are welcome! \nMuch of the repertoire for Renaissance flutes was writt
 en for consorts. A typical consort of Renaissance flutes includes 3 tenor 
 flutes and a bass flute\, or a treble\, 2 tenors and a bass. Larger ensemb
 les are possible too: there is music for 5\,6 and 8 Renaissance flutes. Wo
 rkshop extras include mini-lectures on topics specifically related to the 
 Renaissance flute\, guided instruction on reading from 16th-century notati
 on\, and opportunities to try instruments by various makers.\nOpen to flut
 ists with all levels of experience\, from beginners on the Renaissance flu
 te to already existing flute consorts. Workshop tuition: $270 full tuition
 \, $125 for work-study* tuition. Coffee and tea will be provided. Optional
  'Meet &amp\; Greet' Session on Friday evening\, location tba.
