DESCRIPTION:The season launches with an all-strings program built around dr
 ama\, rivalry\, and virtuosity. Italian firebrand Pietro Antonio Locatelli
  and French master Jean-Marie Leclair display their radically different mu
 sical personalities. Locatelli’s music crackles with showmanship\, while
  Leclair answers with devilish bite\, each pushing the expressive limits o
 f the violin. That spirit carries into Vivaldi\, as two soloists trade lin
 es in brilliant interplay. Bach’s beloved Concerto for Two Violins draws
  the two voices into a consummate exchange\, its energetic lyricism provid
 ing the perfect capstone to the program.
