DESCRIPTION:Baroque Dance of Nations: 6-class workshop series taught by Dan
 ce Through Time Artistic Director and San Francisco Conservatory of Music 
 professor of Baroque Dance\,  Jennifer MellerA popular theme for French c
 horeographers in the 18th century was to take inspiration from neighboring
  nations. There are many surviving dance notations that appear to evoke vi
 rtuosic dances of Italy\, rhythmic dances of Spain\, character dances of E
 ngland\, and the opulent dances of France. In this 6-part workshop series 
 we'll try our feet at reconstructing these various notated dances and thei
 r signature step variations\, and embody the characters they reveal to us.
  This is a somatically based movement class suitable for all ages and leve
 ls. Drop-ins are OK but there will be some continuity to the entire series
 .\nExample dance forms covered: bourée/rigaudon/gavotte\, minuet/passepie
 d\, courante\, sarabande/folia\, chaconne/passacaille\n&nbsp\;
