SUMMARY:Beverley &amp\; East Riding Early Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Beverley &amp\; East Riding Early Music Festival has taken 
 place annually since 1988\, highlighting through early music the extraordi
 nary wealth of medieval musical traditions of the town. Now in its 38th ye
 ar\, the festival is recognised as a ‘jewel in the crown’ of the music
 al calendar - drawing in visitors and residents alike to hear internationa
 lly acclaimed musicians and taking the opportunity to seek out new talent\
 , to take part\, and to enjoy the very particular mix of music and place.\
 n\nRunning from Friday 22 - Sunday 24 May 2026\, and taking the theme of M
 iracles &amp\; Mysteries\, guests joining us in 2026 include Robin Pharo
  directing his French based ensemble Pres de votre orielle (St Mary’s
  Church: Fri 22) in an exquisite programme focusing on the music of Willia
 m Lawes\; The Tallis Scholars (Beverley Minster: Sat 23) filling this gl
 orious church with the music of Gabrieli\, Tallis and Victoria and conclud
 ing with The Telling (East Riding Theatre: Sun 24) as they present the d
 ramatic story of Purcell: The Musical.\n\nHighlights will also include a s
 eries of open access workshops for people of all ages\, concerts\, illustr
 ated lectures and talks across the myriad historic venues of the town with
  artists including the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Baroque Ensemble Bellot
 \; Ensemble Pseudonym - returning to Yorkshire after their performance a
 t the York Early Music Festival in 2024 - and the medieval specialists Ru
 ne.
