DESCRIPTION:In Partnership with ArtX Contemporary\n\nIn the inspiring space
  of ArtX Contemporary\, the eclectic music of Duo Takinai presents music f
 rom Latin America\, Eastern Mediterranean and East Asia – surrounded by 
 the vibrant and abstract paintings and sculptures of internationally recog
 nized artist Fulgencio Lazo. His art work is an exploration of cultural i
 dentity and the power of community.\n\nTakinai is a mix of two words\, the
  Quechua (Bolivian indigenous language) word “Takina” meaning “music
 ”\, and the Chinese word “ai 爱” meaning “love.”  Joined by
  the love for music\, Duo Takinai\, Guo Ke and Reynaldo Ruiz\, bring their
  own distinct cultural heritages and musical backgrounds\, offering interp
 retations with a wide variety of instruments such as the Andean and Asian 
 flutes\, world percussion\, guitar\, harp\, piano\, and qanun.\n\nArtX Con
 temporary (formerly ArtXchange Gallery) is a Seattle-based gallery at the 
 intersection of contemporary art and global culture. The gallery aims to r
 eflect the diverse influences shaping our region to inspire conversation a
 nd connection in our community.
