DESCRIPTION:Early Music Missouri presents "Adoption\, Adaptation &amp\; App
 ropriation: Invasive Species in Mediterranean Musical Culture" a concert f
 eaturing\, Spanish\, Italian and English music from the 16th and 17th cent
 uries. Performed by a trio of soprano\, early guitars &amp\; lutes\, the r
 ecital examines the important musical exchanges between various countries 
 and cultures in the Renaissance &amp\; Baroque eras. These influences incl
 ude the impact of Moorish music on Renaissance Spain and the influence of 
 New World musics on Italian and Spanish musical culture in the 17th centur
 y.\n\nPerformers are Samantha Arten (sopran0)\, Patrick Rafferty (Renaissa
 nce &amp\; Baroque guitars) and Jeffrey Noonan (vihuela &amp\; theorbo). T
 he program includes song by Josquin des Prez\, Giorlamo Frescobaldi and Cl
 audio Monteverdi as well as instrumental works by Luys de Narvaez\, Diego 
 Ortiz\, Santiago de Murcia\, Giovanni Kapsperger\, Santiago de Murcia and 
 others.\n\nAn ideal space for intimate chamber music\, the MOCRA gallery h
 as limited seating and a spectacular sound for acoustic instruments. Admis
 sion is $20 at the door with reduced rates for students.\n\nEarly Music Mi
 ssouri is the foremost presenter and promoter of Early Music performance i
 n the St. Louis region\, offering eight concerts of Medieval\, Renaissance
  and Baroque music each season. Informed by historical documents and origi
 nal scores and guided by modern research\, EMMo offer performances that re
 flect an Historically Informed approach to technique\, interpretation and
