DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: this concert on Sunday\, January 25th has been canceled
due to the winter storm. Sign up on our website for our email newsletter

souri’s 2025–2026 season opens with a program of English music from th
e late 16th and early 17th centuries by Orlando Gibbons and William Byrd.
The viola da gamba holds a special place in English musical culture and so
me of the most sublime music for the viol consort came from the pens of Gi

liturgical anthem for vocal soloists\, choral ensemble and viol consort.\n
\nIn line with its mission to bring regional and local musicians to our st
age\, Early Music Missouri is pleased to welcome Alchymy Viols to our Main
stage series. One of North America’s premiere viol consorts\, Alchymy Vi
ols has performed on concert series and at festivals across the country. I
ts individual members have decades of experience that includes internation
al performance\, recording and teaching credentials. The ensemble is based
in Indiana and its members—Wendy Gillespie\, Joanna Blendult\, Erica Ru
bis and Philip Spray—have strong professional connections to the famed H
istorical Practice Program at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Musi
 c. Alchymy Viols will be joined for this concert by Stephanie Hunt\, viola
da gamba\, David Sinden\, organ\, and a vocal ensemble including soprano
soloists Samantha Arten and Arianna Aerie.\n\nThe concert will take place
on January 25 at 3:00 PM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church\, 110 North War
son Road in Ladue\, MO. The free off-street parking\, available immediatel
y adjacent to the church\, includes multiple handicapped spots. The perfor
mance space is accessible for those with special mobility needs. Admission
to the concert is $20 (cash\, card\, or check) at the door with special d
iscounts for students.\n\nEarly Music Missouri is the region's foremost pr
omoter and presenter of Early Music concerts. Its performances feature Med
ieval\, Renaissance and Baroque repertoire performed on period instruments
by expert performers from the region and nation.
