DESCRIPTION:Early Music Missouri continues its collaborative presentations 
 with the St. Louis Art Museum on December 19 with a free concert of holida
 y music from the High Renaissance. The program takes place in Farrell Audi
 torium as part of SLAM's Festive Friday events. This performance reprises 
 Early Music Missouri’s popular program of instrumental and vocal music f
 rom the High Renaissance.\n\nThe program celebrates the Christmas season w
 ith vocal and instrumental music ranging from Gregorian chant to High Rena
 issance motets. The vocal repertoire includes Tomás Luis de Victoria's O 
 magnum mysterium\, Josquin des Prez's Ave Maria…virgo serena\, an 8-voic
 e Magnificat by Luca Marenzio\, and other seasonal motets by Giovanni Pier
 luigi da Palestrina and others. Early Music Missouri’s Renaissance band 
 features a wind consort of recorders and dulcian\, early strings and lutes
 . Instrumental music on the concert includes works by Andrea Gabrieli\, Lu
 dwig Senfl\, Samuel Scheidt and others.\n\nThe concert is free and open to
  the public. Parking lots on Art Hill offer free street parking while the 
 SLAM parking garage offers paid\, covered parking with direct access to th
 e museum.
