DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nIn the 1580s\, Ferrara boasted one of the most famous voc
 al ensembles in Europe: a trio of women known as the Concerto delle donne
 . One member\, Laura Peverara\, was so admired and beloved that she inspir
 ed two madrigal anthologies\, published in 1582 and 1583. Blue Heron prese
 nts a selection of this rich repertoire\, including music by Wert\, Marenz
 io\, Luzzaschi\, and others.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis program will also be presen
 ted in NYC on February 19 and in Northampton on February 20.\n\n\n
