SUMMARY:Midtown Concerts: Patricia García-Gil &amp\; Cynthia Roberts
DESCRIPTION:Women and English Sociability ~ Sonatas for Keyboard with Violi
 n Accompaniment\nPatricia García-Gil ~ fortepianoCynthia Roberts ~ violin
\nUsing an original 1814 Clementi piano\, this bright B-flat Major program
alternates violin-accompanied keyboard sonatas by English women composers
with selections of Mozart’s English works shaped by the Italianate styl
e of J.C. Bach. This genre centers performers as creative agents\, invitin
g embellishment and improvisation while revealing a musical continuum wher
 e private and public\, popular and learned\, continually blur.\nPatricia G
arcía-Gil and Cynthia Roberts debuted together in May 2024 and have si
nce performed widely. Cynthia is one of America’s leading Baroque violin
ists\, appearing as soloist\, concertmaster\, and recitalist across North
 America\, Europe\, and Asia. Patricia\, Artist-in-Residence and Postdoctor
al Associate at Cornell\, is an internationally-acclaimed keyboardist reco
gnized for visionary programming\, scholarship\, and compelling\, acclaime
 d performances.\n[embed]https://youtube.com/live/LOPgsdfHrAY[/embed]
