DESCRIPTION:The Cello Through Time\n&nbsp\;\n\nAllen Maracle &amp\; Andrew 
 Koutroubas ~ violoncellos\nEzra Gans ~ bassoon\nYunyi Ji ~ harpsichord\n\n
 Long utilized as simply a continuo instrument to play basslines\, 17th-cen
 tury Italian composers began to experiment with writing increasingly virtu
 osic music for the solo violoncello. This program will feature an evolutio
 n of the violoncello from the 17th into the 18th centuries\, with works ra
 nging from the first known sonatas for the instrument by Domenico Gabriell
 i\, to a virtuosic showcase of two violoncellos by Benedetto Marcello.\n\n
 Silentwoods Collective is an artist-run organization focused on community
  building through public arts\, with a vision to make inspiring live perfo
 rmance experiences commonplace\, and to constantly re-evaluate the modes i
 n which we present early music. Allen and Andrew are the two primary celli
 sts of Silentwoods\, and as recent graduates of Juilliard’s historical p
 erformance program\, they have performed together countless times.\n\n&nbs
