DESCRIPTION:Join Newton Baroque on December 6 and 7 for a festive journey t
 hrough Advent\, Christmas\, and Epiphany with music from seventeenth centu
 ry North Germany. Many beloved holiday traditions trace their roots to thi
 s region\, and our program highlights its rich musical heritage\, from con
 templative works to joyful celebrations.\nWith performances at First Luthe
 ran Church in downtown Boston and St Elizabeth’s Church in Sudbury\, the
  concerts showcase two exceptional baroque organs. Andrus Madsen leads on 
 organ\, joined by Susanna Ogata and Nicole Vega on violin\, Douglas Kelley
  on viola da gamba\, and vocalists Anastasia Black and Rozime Lindsey. The
  program features cantatas by Buxtehude\, Bruhns\, Geist\, and Rigatti\, a
 long with Buxtehude’s rollicking Sonata in B flat major and Michael Prä
 torius’ Nun lob mein Seel den Herrn.
