DESCRIPTION:Pre-Concert Lecture - 6:30 pm\n\nLong associated with the Sisti
 ne Chapel\, Palestrina’s actual time as a singer in the Pope’s choir w
 as brief. He spent many more years associated with the choir of St. Peter
 ’s Basilica\, the Cappella Giulia. This concert will feature music compo
 sed in later years of his life between 1571 and his death in 1594. The con
 cert will highlight his often overlooked compositions for two choirs and f
 eatures the eight-voice Missa Confitebor tibi Domine\, along with motets 
 and offertories.
