SUMMARY:Period Performance Workshop presented by Baroque Music Montana
DESCRIPTION:Baroque Music Montana\, led by Artistic Director Carrie Krause\
 , offers a period-practice workshop for modern and baroque performers\, Au
 gust 12th-16th\, 2026 in Bozeman\, Montana. This year's workshop theme is 
 "Riding Bare Bach -- Fugues to Dance with J.S." The workshop will explore:
 \n\n 	original sources (manuscript scores and first editions\, iconography
 \, writing) and their clues for today’s performers\n 	varied articulatio
 n and rhetorical\, communicative sound\n 	ornamentation and improvisation\
 n 	open\, centered\, &amp\; relaxed physical approach to instrument\n 	lar
 ger cultural context of music\n 	large &amp\; small ensembles\, lectures\,
  private lessons\, and some events just for good musical fun! \n\nInstruc
 tion is tailored to multiple skill levels and is open to students (14+)\, 
 amateurs\, and professional players of violin\, viola\, cello\, wind instr
 uments\, keyboard instruments\, and guitar or lute with at least four year
 s of playing experience and adequate reading skills. Viols\, singers\, and
  other instruments may join by request. Participation is capped at 50\, wi
 th possible separate classes for professionals. \n\nFaculty include Carri
 e Krause (violin)\, Manami Mizumoto (violin &amp\; viola)\, Joe Crouch (ce
 llo)\, Lucas Harris (lute &amp\; guitar)\, and Kathie Stewart (flutes).\n\
 nCost for the full workshop (two chamber ensembles and orchestra) is $450.
  Cost for workshop without second chamber ensemble is $380. \n\nScholarsh
