SUMMARY:Relic presents: The Blood of the Rose
DESCRIPTION:The Blood of the Rose is a seamless curation of Baroque music f
 rom across Europe and Latin America\, with a focus on Spanish and Latin Am
 erican music and Venus and Adonis-inspired works. In five musical “chapt
 ers\,” punctuated by spoken excerpts from Calderón’s lush libretto\, 
 this dramatic program depicts Venus and Adonis’s blossoming romance\, Ma
 rs’s vicious attempts to destroy their love\, and the couple’s ultimat
 e tragic demise.\nPerformance is in the Village Hall\, the large red barn 
 behind the church\, on the second floor. Accessible by elevator.
