SUMMARY:SFEMS Choral Workshop
DESCRIPTION:After the success of last year’s mini-choral workshop\, we ar
 e excited to bring a more comprehensive experience to the SFEMS community.
  This workshop will provide opportunities to not only sing a major work wi
 th a period orchestra—André Campra’s (1660–1774) now-rarely perform
 ed but once-beloved Requiem—but also opportunities for solo coaching\, s
 mall ensemble work\, as well as performing opera scenes. In addition\, the
 re will be technique classes and lectures on a variety of vocal and musica
 l topics. Whether you’re testing the waters with early music\, or are re
 ady to go into a deep dive into historically informed performance\, we are
  ready to accommodate you!\nAll singers must register for the choral-orche
 stral track\, which involves preparing\, rehearsing and performing the Cam
 pra Requiem. Rehearsals will be during the evenings of August 10–14\, wi
 th a performance in the afternoon of August 15.\nRehearsals for small ense
 mbles\, solo coaching\, and opera scenes will happen during the afternoons
  of August 10–14\, with a performance in the late morning of August 15.
