SUMMARY:Teddie Talks Traverso - "Baroque Flute Boot Camp: Less is MORE"
DESCRIPTION:This is a concentrated workshop series specifically for improvi
 ng musicality and technique on the baroque flute. We'll look at short exce
 rpts from a variety of music to learn how to play in a more stylish and ef
 fortless way. If you have a basic command of the instrument and can play m
 ovements of Hotteterre\, Telemann\, etc.\, this is for YOU!\nOne of the mo
 st important things I learned from Wilbert Hazelzet is the art of "not pla
 ying"(those were his literal words!). By that he meant to always reduce in
  all aspects of our technique\, to achieve the maximum with the minimum\, 
 to express more by playing less. This is all the more important due to the
  transparency of baroque music as well as the delicacy of the baroque flut
 e as an instrument.\nIn these 8 weeks\, we'll listen\, examine\, and exper
 iment with what "less is more" truly means. Besides music\, we'll also foc
 us on solidifying forked-fingering notes like F and G#\, as they'll also r
 equire "not playing". Throughout the years after my studies\, this has pro
 ven to be truly a transformational concept and I guarantee this will chang
 e your way of listening and sensitivity towards music!\nAs in all my boot 
 camps\, there'll be built-in individual lessons with me so that I can moni
 tor your personal progress. You'll also learn and feel motivated in the ca
 meraderie of others and we'll all be cheering for each along the way! For
