DESCRIPTION:Learn how ornamentation in baroque music contributes to affect 
 and expression!\n\nIn this interactive lecture workshop\, Teddie will be s
 howing how ornamentation contributes to affect in baroque music. Besides b
 eing just another fancy way to play a passage\, ornamentation also has mea
 ning and serves a rhetorical function. We will look at both German and Fre
 nch music and learn how to execute an ornament according to the affect req
 uired. In addition\, we'll also learn how to add our own ornamentation tha
 t compliments the music. Both focused exercises as well as a variety of ba
 roque flute music will be presented.\n\nFull-time music students studying 
 at a higher-education institution receive a discounted rate.\n\n“Teddie 
 Talks Traverso” is a series dedicated to topics around historical flute-
