SUMMARY:The Harp in Softly Pleasing Strains
DESCRIPTION:Zoe Vandermeer is a coloratura soprano\, Welsh triple harpist\,
  and composer.  Her program 'The Harp in Softly Pleasing Strains'\, prese
 nts songs\, arias\, and harp solos by Mozart\, Handel\, Sophie Corri\, Edw
 ard Jones\, and others\, and music by Zoe Vandermeer. \nZoe Vandermeer is
  a prize-winning graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland\, and she
  is currently engaged in a PhD music in research degree (online) at the Un
 iversity of Birmingham UK.  She is on the Roster of the CT Commission on 
 Culture and Tourism since 2011\, and has been a recipient of numerous gran
 ts and awards.  In 2024\, she was a Quarter-Finalist in the World Harp Co
 mpetition\, and in 2023\, she won Second Place in the London Classical Com
 petition\, Vocal Division.  In 2014\, she won First Place in the B. Alexa
 nder International Vocal Competition held in Carnegie Hall.  Ms. Vanderme
 er has given soprano and harp performances at the Rio International Harp F
 estival Brazil\, Connecticut Early Music Festival\, Bloomington Early Musi
 c Festival\, American Swedish Historical Museum Philadelphia\, Pollok Hous
 e National Trust Museum Scotland\, American Harp Society\, Somerset Harp F
