DESCRIPTION:As a young composer\, JS Bach looked to the cosmopolitan North 
 of Germany for inspiration and guidance. Georg Böhm in Luneburg likely me
 ntored Bach in the first years of the 18th century\, and Bach earned prais
 e from Adam Reincken in Hamburg\, who said: "I thought this art was dead\,
  but I see it lives with you." This program features works by Böhm and Re
 incken\, alongside Bach's playful fifth partita. Recital is followed by Ha
 nds-On Time for Newcomers.
