A Baltimore tradition entering its 42nd consecutive year, the Baltimore Bach Marathon, hosted by St David’s Episcopal Church in Baltimore, offers five hours of continuous music by Johann Sebastian on the Sunday closest to his birthday.
Lasting from 1 pm to 6 pm, organ, chamber, and vocal music are featured on this marathon concert. A special treat this year will be the performance of the Johannes-Passion at 4 pm with the Choir of St David’s and chamber orchestra.
Food is available throughout the day for purchase, so feast in the midst of this festival of Bach’s masterworks! The Bach Marathon is free and open to the public, beginning at 1 pm and ending at approximately 6:30 pm on Sunday, March 18. A suggested donation of $5-$10 per hour benefits the musicians and the music series.
