For tens of thousands of youngsters the humble recorder is their first introduction to making music. And for many of their parents – in the shrill, early days at least – it is also something of an endurance test. Which is just one of the reasons why Australian Brandenburg Orchestra artistic director Paul Dyer is so thrilled to bring Swiss recorder virtuoso Maurice Steger to Australia.
