Pegasus Early Music and NYS Baroque Hire New Administrative Director
After years of dreaming of expanding, Pegasus Early Music and partner organization NYS Baroque have combined forces to hire a new position to help take them into their next chapter. Natalie Kress will be joining as Administrative Director of both organizations who regularly share programming to bring top-notch early music performances to audiences in Ithaca, Syracuse, and Rochester. These organizations have consistently delivered a full concert series to their areas for 21 years for Pegasus and 37 years for NYS Baroque.

Artistic Director, Deborah Fox, says, “We’ve been working for several years to upgrade our organizations, all in the name of more and better music. We are thrilled to welcome Natalie Kress, whose energy, passion, and  knowledge of the field and arts administration made her our top candidate for this inaugural position.”

Natalie Kress, a respected performer herself, has built up a career as an administrator, working for the Smithsonian National Museum of American History as operations manager of the Smithsonian Academy Orchestra, and as Personnel Manager of Washington DC’s Opera Lafayette. Along with managing her administrative positions, she leads a free-lance career in Washington DC performing with the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, Washington Bach Consort, National Cathedral Baroque Orchestra, and Opera Lafayette, as well as building up Early Music initiatives at the University of Maryland where she is finishing up a Doctorate. No stranger to building grassroots music organizations, Natalie is a founding member of Quartet Salonnières, Relic Ensemble, Three Village Chamber Players, and Musicivic Inc, and a core member of Repast Baroque.

“Working for Pegasus and NYS Baroque is a perfect opportunity for me to explore everything that I love about building up organizations, supporting artists, and connecting to communities and I am so looking forward to relocating and becoming part of the communities in Western/Central NY.”
