Centering Latin American folklore and historical legends, the second installment of Les Délices’ three-year Mythology Project explores the connections between heaven and earth. Acclaimed soprano Estelí Gomez joins Les Délices for ecstatic cantatas by José de Torres and José Durán, 17th and 18th century music preserved in missions from Guatemala, Bolivia, and Peru, and “Soy la Diosa,” a new commission by Nicaraguan-American composer Gilda Lyons.
