Biography
Claire Fontijn got interested in early music as a youth, and has since followed her passion for the repertory as a musicologist and, formerly, a player of historical flutes. Her publications concern path-breaking figures in early music: Johann Joachim Quantz, Antonia Bembo, Barbara Strozzi, Hildegard, Johann Sebastian Bach, Fanny Hensel, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Anne-Louise Brillon de Jouy, and many more. Her essays are easily accessible via Academia.edu.
