Rylie started playing Baroque bassoon at 13 years old under the guidance of Dr. Anna Marsh. She was a member of the Seattle Historical Arts for Kids – Early Music Youth Academy from 2022-2024. Some highlights from her youth include being the recipient of Early Music America's 2023 IDEA Workshop Scholarship, performing at Oberlin Conservatory of Music's Baroque Performance Institute, and performing at Amherst Early Music Festival’s Baroque Academy. She currently attends college at the prestigious music conservatory Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland. She is working on a B.A. degree in historical bassoon performance under the guidance of Carles Cristóbal. Rylie performs regularly with Schola in Switzerland on Baroque bassoon and on dulcian. She actively plays in oboe band and open air projects on Barqoue bassoon with Professors Alexandre Zanetta, Jean François Madeuf, and Philipp Wagner, and she also perform with Schola’s alta capella ensemble on dulcian with Professor Ian Harrison. Once a year, she performs with the La Cetra Orchestra in Basel, Switzerland on Baroque bassoon, and she participates in numerous student lead projects. Outside of Schola, she is an active member of a professional ensemble group where she performs kammermusikabends in Freiburg, Germany.
