“Gut, Wind, and Wire” is made up of founding Baltimore Consort members Mark Cudek (cittern, bass viol, percussion), Ronn McFarlane (lute), and Mindy Rosenfeld (flutes and fifes). The trio performs Early and Celtic Music as well as arrangements of Ronn’s GRAMMY-nominated original compositions.
For their Indianapolis performance the trio will perform early music from Michael Prasetorius’s Terpsichore (1612), John Playford’s English Dancing Master (1651); a set of pieces Shakespeare used or quoted in Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet, and a suite from Joanambrosio Dalza’s 1508 collection of dance music which is the very first publication of dance suites. They will also perform a Scottish Baroque piece by James Oswald and some anonymous Scottish tunes. Finally, they’ll include a couple arrangements of original music from Ronn McFarlane’s GRAMMY-nominated CD Indigo Road.
