“Les voix humaines“
Marin Marais’ amazing piece “Les voix humaines” for bass viol and continuo serves as the inspiration for this program. The viola da gamba has historically been chosen when the sound of the human voice seeks to be represented. Abigail Nims also offers her voice and artistry in Bach’s Aria “Es ist Vollbracht” (St. John Passion) and in Handel’s cantata Lucrezia. We think you’ll voice your praise and appreciation for this wonderful music.
